![]() ![]() He is son of Thomas, who was, according to him, a great warrior and commander from Guardiana. Ken is a centaur, and another of the young fighters of the Guardiana army. As a dwarf, Luke fights with an axe, and possesses excellent attack and defense, although he is somewhat slow. He admires the older dwarven warrior Gort. Luke is a young dwarven fighter of the Guardiana army. Max can be named any name you want at the beginning of the game. He is also the only one able to use some of the game's relics. ![]() Max wields a sword in combat, and he also possess some considerable magical power. His background and personality are expanded upon considerably in the GBA remake in the original game, he didn't even speak, except on very rare occasions. Found suffering from amnesia as a child, he was raised by the knight Varios to become a soldier of Guardiana. This section contains background information for these characters, but it should be noted that most of this information is presented only on the GBA remake, Shining Force: Resurrection of Dark Dragon, so players of the original game probably won't be familiar with it. There are 30 recruitable members of the Shining Force, but only 12 of them can be used at a time, and most are not required (some are even secret). ![]() The other characters watch as the castle sinks back into the water, and Max is presumed dead. As Dark Dragon’s castle begins to crumble, Max teleports his army to safety, while he stays behind. When Dark Dragon is defeated, he is resealed in another dimension. The armies of Runefaust are commanded by Dark Dragon, an evil beast that was sealed away in an alternate dimension a thousand years ago. The game is divided into chapters, each chapter covering a different part of the war. It is also Max's job to recruit as many members to the Force as possible as they fight the hordes of Runefaust. Once they exit Guardiana, the adventure begins. At this point, Max is joined by five other characters. Varios chooses to send Max to investigate, so as not to scare the townsfolk with a large force. He is the apprentice of the famed knight Varios, who is called upon when a force from Runefaust is seen at the Gates of Guardiana. The protagonist is a swordsman named Max. The game opens in the Kingdom of Guardiana, in the land of Rune. 2.2 Shining Force GBA Remake characters. And whilst it never struck me as anything like dark its brightness is not of the forced variety II's is. SFI's construction also lends better to developing late gotten characters known to be inferior, a plus for replay value and personalising, whilst SFII's are more in the nature of miss or mandatory hit (the final knight character eg). Its improvements are far too = I believe every character in SFII has special/secret promotions about a year ago I dug up a strategy guide thinking I'd replay the game and despite its being very thorough (from RPG Shrine) found it lacking certain promotions and wrong about when they could be effected, which is quite early. SFII is much harder, hence I think the customary approbation, though it's a poor means of balancing the kiddie art style. Pretty much all this, though there are some elevated songs in II such as the area music for the sleeping/enchanted forest (somewhere like that-haven't replayed the game since it came out). SF's similar looking characters have cooler attack animations than SFII. SF has wildly varying stats per level, both in the range of points per stat as well as the number stats that can gain points with any given level up. SFII's leveling is balanced too tight and your stats don't vary much with each level gain. SFII's music is more generic happy orchestral, while SF's music matches the darker gothic theme. SFII also has some pretty cheesy characters like Peter, Slade and Lemon. ![]() SFII uses gaudy colors (way too much red/warm tones). SF has a perfect aesthetic style and is dark like Landstalker and SitD. I covered a lot of this in the latest fav game thread. ![]()
